Reformation of the building of the Administration Offices of the Onassis Cultural Center: The building is located at the intersection of two streets opposite to the Onassis Cultural Center and in a diagonal connection with the building of Ethniki Insurance. Its reformation is oblidged at first not to hightlight itself, but the Cultural Center. This means that the administration building should retreat to better reveal the Center. Through two gestures: a geometric and a color one. The geometric gesture is the concealment of the balconies through a louvred construction that unifies their protrusions - while offering sun protection. The color gesture is their darker surface: shaded, the entire volume of the administration building retreats so that the opposite white prism emerges completely. The building is a typical Athenian construction of the 70's with perimetrical balconies running through its facades and a characteristic angular abrasion that accentuates its perplexity. The proposal diminishes the predominance of the typology of the balconies: on the side road, the balconies are concealed, on the main road, just opposite to the Center's facade, it is desposed. The new square façade is broken down into smaller squares: a primal curtain wall- all of the components of which may potentially open. The floor plan of the office space is of the same structure at all major levels. Its central idea is to create an elongated entrance and waiting area on either side of which the offices are located - ending at the meeting room. Its transparent sliding partition leaves the whole area free when the room is not being used, offering a wide, attractive common space - geometrically valid and sculpturally symbolic of the internal operation of a cultural organization.
