Klimis Aslanidis

Born in Athens (1974), Diploma in architecture, National Technical University of Athens (1998), MA in Conservation Studies, University of York (2000), PhD in Architectural History, University of Patras (2014). Postdoctoral researcher, University of Patras (2017-8). Publications focusing on medieval architecture. Design and supervision of numerous conservation projects for ancient, medieval, post-medieval and modern monuments. Conservation architect at the Greek Ministry of Culture, Committee for the Southern Slope of the Acropolis (2003-2015), mainly responsible for the restoration of the auditorium of the ancient theatre of Dionysos. Participation in projects of Tense Architecture Network that won prizes in architectural competitions and in the design and supervision of the conservation of the Byzantine church of Hagia Kyriaki that won the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage – Europa Nostra Award (Grand Prix / 2018). Member of the Council for Architectural Heritage of Elliniki Etairia (Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage) and the board of Christian Archaeological Society. Assistant professor at the Department of Architecture, Gediz University, Izmir (2016). Assistant professor at the School of Architecture, Technical University of Crete. Member of tense architecture network since 2008.
